The Garden
Barry and Glenys Mulligan first moved into the house in 1978. At that time the notable plants included a Prunus, a Lorraine Lee rose and a Wisteria which still remain.
Since then the garden has expanded gradually over time and evolved within itself. There are features within and around the garden such as a limestone wall separating the garden from the vineyard, sandstone paths leading between sections of garden and ornaments placed in amongst it all.
The Rose
The rose is the predominant plantation of the garden. At present there are hundreds of roses which when in full bloom are a spectacle. The planting is orchestrated by Glenys Mulligan and she has had an affiliation with the rose for nearly 40 years. All beginning with the desire to introduce more flower and colour to the surrounding areas of the Mulligan household.
The garden itself has produced "Grand Champion Rose" winners - Penola Agricultural and Horticultural Show.
